About

Who I am

Portrait of Ari Fisher in a navy suit and light blue shirt

I spent 21 years in the Army, from West Point to command of a 1,590-person battalion. I led it with full accountability for mission outcomes across six concurrent field organizations, and built leaders who made decisions without waiting for permission.

At U.S. Indo-Pacific Command I designed the mission assurance framework that replaced siloed readiness reporting with one picture for a two-star admiral. It answers the question every senior headquarters asks: what can this command do right now? I published that framework in Joint Force Quarterly in 2023.

Most recently I built a transformation office at Fort Leonard Wood, brought KPI frameworks and AI-supported systems into a large, change-resistant command, and turned data from six divisions into a single decision process for the commander.

I am mission-first, low-ego, and decisive. I solve what matters, not what is easy.

Capabilities

What I am hired for

Fractional executive

For founder-led teams stuck doing everything themselves: we find your answers together, then I stay on to carry them out.

  1. 01

    Capability adoption and change leadership

Built the technical narrative and stakeholder buy-in to adopt KPI frameworks and AI in a large, change-resistant command, and turned early value into sustained use.

  2. 02

Executive decision support and organizational design

Principal advisor to the Chief of Staff of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, turning input from 100+ headquarters leaders into clear recommendations. Led a redesign of personnel, functions and 186,000 square feet of space across four locations.

Defense technology

For companies building for national security customers that need someone who understands fielded technology from the warfighter's perspective.

  1. 01

Requirements, pilot scoping and homeland defense

Translates commander's intent into clear requirements, timelines and success criteria. Led protection planning for U.S. Indo-Pacific Command's joint homeland defense plan, and advised on counter-small UAS strategy that led to joint resourcing of the technology for warfighters.

  2. 02

    Cross-functional synthesis

Combined performance data from six operational divisions, and readiness metrics measured in different units across joint functions, into one common risk picture.

Leadership consulting and facilitation

For leadership teams, conferences and organizations that want to think harder together and build trust.

  1. 01

    Red team facilitation

Structured discovery in the red-team tradition: ask the hard questions, challenge the plan and its assumptions, and help your team reach its own answers. Red Team certified through the Army's University of Foreign Military and Cultural Studies.

  2. 02

    Speaking and leadership workshops

Talks and working sessions drawn from 21 years of Army leadership, including command of a 1,590-person battalion. Built on trust, accountability and values. Under my command misconduct fell 75%, and my leaders outpaced their peers in top-tier evaluations.

Approach

How I work

Ari Fisher in the Army green dress uniform, standing with his hands clasped
  • One picture, not six.

Siloed expertise fails when problems cross domains. I pull separate metrics and risk views into a single decision process a leader can use.

  • Solve what matters, not what is easy.

I work on what the leader needs, not what is convenient for the staff.

  • Get close to the people, then empower them.

I listen deeply, remove stovepipes between functions, and deliver clarity at speed. Then I give leaders room to act and hold them to clear accountability.
